My name is Larry James Smith; I am a Texas Black African American born in Kilgore, Texas. My parents are; Kermit Roosevelt Smith and Gladys Smith. They are excellent parents who gave my sister and me a solid foundation, how to be caring adults, feed our minds with God's words at the front of our lives.
I've always been a curious person and creative. I have numerous inventions and things that I've changed to work or look like what I think people would appreciate. My father taught me strong work ethics, giving me the courage to do anything. As I grew older, challenges hit me in the face, limiting my attempt to take on the diversity of my limitations.
I am very fortunate to have been exposed to the world as I traveled and experience different cultures.
Most of all, I have become acquainted with a variety of races of people. It takes having a relationship with God and knowing yourself, then growing into the rolls. Humans have a connection. Suppose we take time to listen to the heart of the person the other person must reciprocate. I have made bad choices and learn from them. I have a strong ethic about being a man, father, spouse, and lover.
I knew loving myself would help me see how much God loves Us. My eyes were open to this fact late in my life, and it helps me ask God to forgive me for all my sins. I join the United States Air Force to make a difference bring about a better world. I found out that a small-town boy was no match with world problems.
I know I suffer from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), exploding into a rage of violence. But, by God's well, I've never hurt anyone. So, I learn to center my mind on creating something to distract the anger of disappointments in life and the war zone that I was facing.
However, now that maturity has given me an act of new courage, I face my fears head-on because I'm doing the right thing. God will support me.
As you follow my "Website Spiritual Journey," creating Art Bracelets, I will share my inventions, positive thoughts, Spiritual conversation.
I attended Rollins Elementary and, in 1964, graduate from Mary C. Womack High School. While trying to find out my purpose in life, I attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, with lots of distractions, then Kilgore Junior College, one of the first African Americans to follow. I could not focus on learning; I wanted to work and make a fast change in my life. I asked my girlfriend to marry me and joined the United States Air Force. That was the start of a long learning process with life lessons.
